Whether you're looking to change the shape or increase volume— We will make your YOUR DREAM Lips a REALITY
“Cupid Lips” ™ By Dr Kalanda
The Russian Lip technique involves the vertical injection of a hyaluronic acid filler into the base of the lip, drawing the filler in a linear retrograde fashion to the vermilion border (the outer edge of the lip). This method creates an upward-turned lip shape, drawing attention to the center, rather than an outward volume often observed in other tenting techniques.
Dr kalanda has adapted this solid foundation to create an innovative technique that further enhances the cupid’s bow, increases the size of the lips, and plumps them while keeping the lips flat. We call these “Cupid Lips” ™
How to prepare for your new lips
Consultation – An initial consultation is conducted to ensure you are a candidate for the Russian lip filler treatment. It also allows you to get to know your provider, making the entire experience more comfortable.
Schedule appropriately – Keep in mind that swelling and bruising are common side effects with any dermal filler, meaning that your treatment should be planned well in advance to avoid important upcoming events, such as weddings or birthdays.
Blood thinners – Blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen, as well as herbal supplements including Ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, flax oil, cod liver oil, fish oil, vitamin A, and vitamin E, can cause excessive bruising. Avoid these 3 – 5 days before your lip treatment.
Alcohol – Avoid alcohol 1-2 days before your treatment, as it can lead to increased bruising and swelling.
Cold sores – Let your doctor know if you have had, or have cold sores. Outbreaks must be fully cleared before your treatment to avoid exacerbation during the injection process.

What is the Russian Lip Fillers Aftercare routine?
Minor side effects do occur with any medical treatment involving needles. To expedite the recovery it is encouraged to do the following:
Apply ice packs right after your Russian lip filler treatment and throughout the first 24 hours. The ice is used to constrict the blood vessels, reducing the blood flow to the recently injected lips. Reduction of blood flow reduces the production of inflammatory signals and leads to less swelling and pain;
Avoid hot environments such as saunas and steamy showers for 48 hours as they promote blood flow to the traumatized lip area and increase post-procedural swelling and bruising;
Avoid makeup until the needle wounds have completely healed to ensure that there is no bacterial contamination;
Avoid rubbing or massaging your lips to prevent filler migration;
There is anecdotal evidence that applying aloe vera and arnica cream helps with minor bruises;
Increase your water intake and limit sodium and alcohol consumption to promote better healing and minimize swelling
